Every day we wake up, it is a new experience filled with new opportunities. However, we too often face the new day based on our previous experiences, which are often filled with negative thoughts and ideas due to the struggles we encounter. Why do we so often focus on the negative and are unable to see the positive? It is because the negative events in our life are magnified by Satan in his efforts to keep us down and keep him in control of our life. It is very interesting that we can choose to acknowledge and dwell on the negative, or focus on the positive; it is our choice. Yes, I know that when we are facing severe challenges in life, that it does not seem easy to stay positive. I did not say that it is always easy. However, if we can make a habit (especially during the “good times”) to realize that in the great scheme of life, God does have our back and wants what is best for us (even when we don’t realize what that is). It will help us navigate the tougher times of life. Let us make a habit of following the advice of David, given in Psalms 113.3 “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.” Let’s start a new habit of praising his name daily, no matter what, and see how it changes our perspective on life, even all of the negative that we have to face.
