Certainty Amid the Uncertainty

As we continue into week (?? Who knows how many now) of the Coronavirus “lifestyle,” everything as we know it seems upended. What was normal is now abnormal, what we did before now we can’t do. Simple tasks of life become challenges, like being concerned that by just simply going for groceries, we could end with catching a life-threatening illness. All of this uncertainty creates fear of the unknown; unknown what is next, unknown how and when will this end.

Well, I have some awesome news! There is certainty amidst all of the craziness we are experiencing, and this weekend provides us a strong reminder, if we will only listen and accept it. Christ died so we could have certainty! The fact that after his death on that Friday and resting in the grave on Sabbath, He rose Sunday morning so you and I could have the certainty of spending eternity with him in heaven. A place where there will be no more disease, no more death, no more sadness. Jesus wants us to live with him, that  is why he died for us. All we have to do is accept the gift of his death to cover our sins, and desire to follow him and keep his commandments (“If ye love me keep my commandments” John 14:15).

I don’t know about you, but all of this uncertainty just makes me more excited about His soon return to take His faithful home. Join me in prayer daily, asking for forgiveness of our sins and guidance to want to keep all of his commandments; which will help prepare us to live together in harmony with Him in Heaven.
